The longest continually running Earth Fest celebration continues the tradition April 30th in Broome County, running 27 years this year.

Speaking on the March 18 edition of the weekly local public affairs program, Southern Tier Close Up, Chris Burger of Earth Day Southern Tier goes over plans for this year's festival at SUNY Broome Community College.  Burger says they are still signing up environmentally-friendly vendors for the event.

Burger, who has been a long-time advocate of reduce, reuse and recycle and other environmental issues also talks about changing attitudes toward the environment, global warming and challenges that are still facing the planet.

More information on Earth Fest can be found at www.myedst.org.  Vendors can also register at that website.

Southern Tier Close Up can be heard Saturdays at 12:10 p.m. on News Radio 1290 WNBF.
