The Broome County Special Investigations Unit Task Force says officers have plugged at least one pipeline funneling large amounts of heroin and cocaine from New York city into Broome County.

Investigators say on the evening of March 22, they intercepted 130 grams of unpackaged, pure heroin and 52 grams of powder cocaine worth about $60,000 at the Downtown Binghamton Intermodal bus terminal.

28 year old Jessica Titus and 17 year old Maria Champion-Cruz, both of Johnson City, were arrested when they got off the bus.

March 25, 35 year old Richard Madison of Johnson City was arrested as an alleged conspirator.

The arrests follow a month-long investigation.

Officials say Titus is charged with four felony counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, felony conspiracy and had an arrest warrant issued by City of Binghamton Court.

Champion-Cruiz is charged with felony conspiracy while Madison is charged with four felony counts of attempted criminal possession of a controlled substance, felony conspiracy and had an arrest warrant for a parole violation.

All are being held in the Broome County Jail without bail.
