The man who has been steering the Owego Apalachin School District for close to ten years, including facing the challenges of district buildings destroyed in the 2011 flood, is going to retire next June.

Doctor William Russell has asked the Board of Education to accept his resignation, effective June 30, 2016.  The Board voted to accept the resignation at its October 8 meeting.

Syracuse-based Castallo and Silky will assist the district in selecting a new superintendent.
