A Delaware County man is charged with confinement of a companion animal in a vehicle during extreme temperatures.

50 year old Clayton Condon of Bovina Center is accused of leaving a dog in a tractor trailer with no air conditioning or ventilation at a gas station on Route 48 in Otego for at least 2 hours with outside temperatures in the mid 80s.

New York State Police were able to get the dog out and gave it water.

The dog required no additional medical attention and was turned over to a friend of Condon.

Condon was arrested about 45 minutes later when he returned to the truck.

He’s been ordered to appear in Town of Otego Court.
