Democrat Enters Binghamton Mayoral Race
A Democrat is entering the race for Binghamton Mayor but Republicans are already calling into question his ethics.
32 year old Michael Trieman announced he is challenging Republican incumbent Richard David, who has not officially announced he is seeking another term. Republicans quickly publicized entries on Trieman’s twitter page from 2012 that included expletives and references to female body parts.
Trieman said the tweets were from a long time ago and has deleted the account.
Treiman criticized David for response to the big snow storm earlier this month and said there are serious challenges like tax relief that are not being addressed.
Binghamton University student, Bella Rubinton, who had announced plans to run for mayor as a Republican, dropped her campaign.
