Delaware County Sheriff’s Office to Get K9 Car
The Delaware County Sheriff’s office is getting $40,000 in funding from New York State to buy a new vehicle with a specific purpose.
The new cruiser is specially built for use by the K-9 drug and search rescue team.
The Delaware County Sheriff’s Office recently acquired K-9 Officer Osman, “Ozzie” Steele, handled by Sgt. John Demeo, and the dog quickly tracked down and helped apprehend suspects in a growing number of drug cases.
The funding was announced by New York State Senators James Seward of Oneonta and John Bonacic of Mt. Hope.
