Delaware County Crash Leads to Weapon Charges

A Delaware County man is facing numerous charges following a crash on County Highway 14 in the Town of Franklin.County Sheriff's officials and New York State Police responded to the crash March 5th. The investigation was joined by the Village of Sidney Police Drug Recognition expert.

According to authorities, 47 year old Rafael Macken of Walton is charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs as well as several misdemeanor and felony weapon possession charges.

Deputies say they recovered a loaded .22 handgun, a silencer, switchblade knife, metal knuckles, assorted drugs and marijuana from the vehicle.

In addition to the weapon charges, Macken is charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and failure to keep right.

He was sent to the Delaware County jail on $15,000 bail.
