Pennsylvania State Police say a Michigan man was the victim of a scam in which the scammer was unwittingly assisted by a Bradford County resident.

Officials say in April, the 25 year old Inkster, Michigan man believed he had sold a cellular telephone to a buyer on Craigslist.  He shipped the cell phone and accessories to an address in Troy, Pennsylvania in Bradford County but never received payment.

He reported the matter to the PayPal Fraud Department and was told he was the victim of a phishing scam.

Pennsylvania authorities say the story didn't end there.  Investigators say they recovered the phone at a home in Columbia Township and discovered the person there was duped by someone in Nigeria, Africa into participating in the scheme.
