Cortland County Sheriff's officials say they have shut down a methamphetamine lab in the Town of Cortlandville.

June 28th, deputies executed a search warrant at a home on Penguin Drive and say they found several items used in the manufacture of methamphetamines along with five, one-pot meth labs that were seized and secured.

The New York State Police Contaminated Crime Scene Emergency Response Team and the Environmental Protection Service were called in for the clean up of the hazardous site.

51 year old Arvin Strauf and 28 year old Catherine Strauf were charged with felony unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine, criminally using drug paraphernalia, criminal possession of precursors of methamphetamine and criminal possession of a weapon for having a switch blade knife.

19 year old Arvin Strauf, Jr. was charged with felony unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine, unlawful disposal of methamphetamine laboratory material and criminal possession of precursors of methamphetamine.

All were sent to the Cortland County Jail.
