Authorities say Justin Granata of the town of Willet was charged with felony counts of first-degree reckless endangerment and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

According to the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office, the disturbance at Granata’s home on Lower Cincinnatus Road was reported early Sunday afternoon.

Investigators say Granata had argued with relatives and fired two shots into the ground near the residence. Children were in the home at the time.

In addition to reckless endangerment and weapon possession, Granata was charged with menacing, endangering the welfare of a child and unlawful possession of a large capacity ammunition feeding device.

Granata was arraigned in Marathon town court and sent to Cortland County Jail on $5,000 bail.
