Cider Mill Playhouse Reorganizes

A local professional theater company is adjusting its management.

The board of directors of the Cider Mill Playhouse has recently approved the shifting of several job responsibilities, including merging the duties of Artistic director into the work of the Executive Director.

The Board says it is also reworking how it runs casting, design and other artistic processes.

Executive Director Gail Belokur says a recent assessment from the New York Council on Nonprofits turned up some weaknesses in the Endicott theater’s operations.

The restructuring of key staff is part of a strategic plan to strengthen the organization and support sustainability.

Officials say the Playhouse expects to make additional announcements soon with details about the changes and talent recruitment both nationally and locally.
