Chenango Man Accused Of Stealing From Parents

A 34-year-old Broome County man was sent to jail after he was arrested for allegedly stealing items from his parents.

Authorities say Matthew Aton of the town of Chenango was arrested Thursday.

According to the Broome County Sheriff's Office, Aton has been charged with petit larceny.

Investigators say Aton reported her son had stolen things that belonged to her. They say Aton admitted taking an e-book reader and a leaf blower in order to pawn them for cash.

Aton was arraigned in Chenango town court and sent to Broome County Jail on $500 bail.

Police say the stolen items had not been recovered.
