Law enforcement agencies around New York State are conducting another 'Click It or Ticket' seat belt enforcement effort.  The initiative runs through June 2nd.

New York State Police, Broome Sheriff's and other agencies have increased patrols out looking for motorists and passengers in violation of the state seat belt law.

Broome County Sheriff David Harder says agencies are periodically awarded federal funding to cover overtime and other costs associated with concentrated law enforcement efforts.

Sheriff Harder says authorities routinely look for violators of the seat belt, cell phone, drunk and aggressive driving and other laws, but publicized saturation patrols serve as an additional reminder for the public.
