Richard Bucci will be retiring as principal of Seton Catholic Central High School in Binghamton, four years after he took the job.

The former Binghamton mayor will step down from the post on June 30.

Bucci, who also has been serving as president of the Catholic Schools of Broome County, will continue in that role.

Before he assumed the dual roles with the Catholic schools, Bucci was an adminstrator with the Vestal school district.

Bucci graduated from Catholic Central High School in 1972. The school later was renamed Seton Catholic Central as part of a consolidation.

Bucci served as Binghamton's mayor from 1994 through 2005.

A new Broome County Catholic School board is to be established, with members serving beginning July 1.
