BU Women Host UMBC

The 2016 America East Women's Basketball Tournament is underway and tonight (Saturday) at 8:15 the Binghamton Bearcats hope to take another step ahead in their program.  Binghamton meets UMBC in the last of four games scheduled for the opening day of the tourney.

Yesterday, BU coach Linda Cimino was named the America East Coach of the Year.  Four of her players earned awards for outstanding play in various categories. Tonight, they hope to show the rest of the conference what they can do in the post-season.

During the regular season the Retrievers and Bearcats each won at home when they faced each other.  They have identical records finishing tied for third placed at 8-8 in the regular season.Through a tie-breaking process for seeding purposes Binghamton is the fifth seed and UMBC is seeded fourth. Airtime is set for 8 PM on News Radio 1290 WNBF.

Tonight's winner moves on and faces the winner of the Albany versus Vemont game set for a 6:00 PM start..
