Basketball season is just days away for the Binghamton Bearcats.  November 6both the men's and women's teams open up play with exhibition games (non Division I schools).  The women start things off at 5:30 when they host East Stroudsburg at the Events Center.  That game will be followed by the men's contest against Cobleskill scheduled for an 8:00 p.m. start. Both games will be broadcast on News Radio 1290 WNBF.

Linda Cimino begins her second season as head coach of the Bearcats and is hopeful of improving on last year's 4-26 record.  The Bearcats hosted last year's America East Women's Tournament and dropped a quarterfinal game to Maine 78-71.

Guard play was the strength last season.  Jasmine Sina was the America East Rookie of the Year. She averaged 14.8 points per game.  Fellow Freshman Imani Watkins finished right behind Sina with 13.5 points per game.  Both were names to the All-Rookie Team.  Watkins will have to shoulder even more of a workload this season.  Sina tore her ACL in practice and will sit out the season with a medical redshirt.

Following Friday night's game the Bearcats travel to Michigan.  They return home Monday, November 16 at 7:00 p.m. when they host NJIT.

Tim Heiman returns to call the action of all Bearcats' women's games home and away.  The majority of games will be aired on News Radio 1290 WNBF while others will be broadcast on ESPN 1360 AM.
