Broome United Way Chief to Retire

Another high-profile figure in the community is announcing his retirement.

Days after the President of the Greater Binghamton Chamber of Commerce, Lou Santoni, announced he would step down in April, the Executive Director of the United Way of Broome County, Alan Hertel, says he will also retire in April.

A transition team has been formed to search for a replacement.

The United Way is the largest, non-government, funder of health and human services in Broome County with support for more than 40 local programs.
