Four structures on Liberty Street will be demolished as part of the project. Two Munsell Street buildings will torn down and one abandoned two-family house on Pearne Street will be removed.

The demolitions are being done by Gorick Construction Company.

More than $280,000 in state funding is being used to acquire the properties and tear down the buildings.

The work is part of the city's Northside Revitalization Project. It's expect to be completed over the next few weeks.

Land Bank executive director Margaret Scarinzi said these are the first-ever demolitions for the corporation.  The Broome Land Bank was established in 2013 as part of an economic development effort to eliminate blight and stabilize neighborhoods.
