Broome Inmates Face Charges After Drugs Found

Two Broome County jail inmates have been arrested after authorities say drugs were confiscated.

According to the sheriff's office correction division, Diamond Santana of Binghamton faces a felony count of criminal possession of a controlled substance after officers found cocaine in his personal property bag.

Officials say Shawn Swiers of Johnson City was charged with promoting prison contraband, a misdemeanor.

Swiers allegedly was in possession of marijuana when he was searched as he entered the jail.

Santana and Swiers are to be arraigned in Dickinson town court.
