The Front Street Dog Shelter is opening its doors to the public for its second annual Make a Difference Day for the dogs Saturday, October 26.

The Broome County-owned shelter will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and is located just off Front Street in the Town of Dickinson next to SUNY Broome Community College.

Visitors are asked to drop off donations of supplies, register to become a volunteer or to offer to stop by for a visit or to walk a dog.  Of course, the shelter would like to see some of their residents adopted into loving 'forever homes.'

The shelter needs several items including Tide liquid laundry detergent, blue Dawn dish soap, dog treats, collars, leashes, toys and extra large crates.

To find the shelter, turn onto Lieutenant VanWinkle Drive then left at the Bagsai field onto Cutler Pond Road.
