Early voting will be an option for Broome County residents next fall but there won't be many polling sites available.

County election officials are trying to determine where early voting will be conducted.

According to the Board of Elections, the county must have at least two early voting poll sites based on the number of registered voters.

The board is conducting an online survey seeking suggestions as to where the early voting sites should be located. People may participate in the survey by going to the Board of Elections website.

Election officials plan to announce the early voting poll sites and hours in May.

Early voting will run from Saturday, October 26 through Sunday, November 3. Election Day this year is Tuesday, November 5.

As part of New York's election reforms, all federal, state and local primaries will be held on a single date. This year's Primary Election Day is Tuesday, June 25.
