Broome County Executive Debra Preston and the Broome County Veterans’ Service Agency say they are looking for local veterans who served in Beirut.

This year commemorates the 30th year since the bombing of the U.S. Embassy and the Marine Barracks in Beirut, Lebanon.

A commemoration event is coming up in the future and officials are looking to put together as accurate a data base as possible of Broome County residents who have served.

Anyone who served in Beirut is asked to call the Broome County Veterans’ Services Agency at (607) 778-2147.
