Binghamton officials are reporting progress in the development of the city's revised comprehensive plan.

The Blueprint Binghamton project has been underway since last spring.

City planning director Tarik Abdelazim says he's pleased with the enthusiasm residents have shown for the initiative.

Abdelazim says people of all ages have commented on the updated comprehensive plan.

The city is funding work on the project with money from a federal grant.

Residents will be able to learn more about the latest ideas for the plan as part of this week's First Friday event in downtown Binghamton. The First Friday Blueprint Binghamton open house will run from 5 to 9 p.m. at 49 Court Street.
