A city business operator has been named the winner of a prize after participating in a series of Blueprint Binghamton discussions.

According to the mayor's office, Robert Gerard, co-owner of Green Way Pavements, was chosen to receive a Kindle Fire. The gift was donated by Citizens Bank.

City officials say Gerard attended all seven planning discussions and was involved in many Blueprint Binghamton events.

The discussions were part of the effort to update Binghamton's comprehensive plan.

Several organizations participated in the Blueprint Binghamton initiative.
