Something stinks on the Binghamton University Vestal campus...

It's the "Corpse Flower." The unusual plant started blooming Thursday, releasing what's described as a "rotten flesh" odor.

The Corpse Flower is housed in the Binghamton University greenhouse. It last bloomed in 2010.

The greenhouse is extending its hours so more people will have an opportunity to experience the aroma for themselves.

The plant was donated to the university in 2007. It grew from seeds acquired at a 2005 auction in Indonesia.
