An appeal is planned, but, for now, a suspended Binghamton Police Officer is being ordered to pay a fine and court fees after being found guilty of leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident.

Judge William Pellela ruled April 15 Kristi Sager did not provide necessary information to the owner of a parked car she hit while off-duty on Eldredge Street in February and didn’t stay on the scene until police arrived.

She’s been ordered to pay a $50 fine and a surcharge.

Sager admitted she did not give Matthew Keefe her insurance information but had provided her last name, identified herself as a police officer and gave her license plate number before leaving.

Sager has claimed the action was only taken after she rebuffed sexual advances by Police Chief Joseph Zikuski and has filed a human right suit against the Chief and City of Binghamton.

Chief Zikuski is on paid administrative leave while that action proceeds and an investigation is conducted.
