Binghamton Police Investigate Downtown Stabbing

Authorities were looking for a suspect in connection with a reported stabbing incident in downtown Binghamton.
Police and fire department medics were sent to the area of 23 Fayette Street at 3:09 p.m. Tuesday.
Initial reports indicated a man had been stabbed with a kitchen knife. The injured man was evaluated at the scene before he was taken by a fire department ambulance to Lourdes Hospital. His injuries were believed to be minor.
People who were near the scene of the attack said they heard a loud argument shortly before the police responded to the neighborhood.
Officers circulated around Fayette and adjacent streets seeking information from potential witnesses.
Police were said to be looking for a woman who may have been armed with a large knife.
