A man who was found in a Binghamton home with several stab wounds is hospitalized in critical condition.

Authorities say city police were called to a two-family residence on the South Side around 8:25 p.m. Wednesday.

A man at 6 Clarence Street reportedly sustained injuries to his head and abdomen. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Detective Lt. Corey Minor said the man had multiple wounds but he declined to elaborate. Minor also would not say whether a weapon had been recovered by investigators.

The house where the incident occurred is on the corner of Clarence Street and Hillside Avenue, one block east of Mill Street.

People with information may contact the Binghamton police detective division at 607.772.7080.
