A building that originally served as a supermarket in a Binghamton neighborhood is coming back to life as a banquet facility.

Celebrations on Park is opening its doors this week as a venue for weddings, corporate events and other gatherings.

The 8,000-square-foot facility is located at 136 Park Avenue on the city's South Side.

The building opened as a Harris Foodlines grocery store in 1965. It later was home to a Knights of Columbus post.

Nicole Travis, Danielle Sepe Yurka and Justin Sepe spent the past three years working to transform the unused building into a multi-use event center. The building was acquired from the Knights of Columbus in January 2021.

The facility can accommodate up to 250 seated guests with a maximum capacity of 350 people.

The owners say the venue features a custom-crafted bar, along with state-of-the-art sound and audio-visual equipment.
