UPDATE: Two possible suspects in the Binghamton investigation have been arrested in Syracuse.

Police say two Binghamton businesses paid more than $6,000 for hundreds of counterfeit silver dollar coins.

Investigators say two men sold the bogus coins to Tom's Coffee, Cards and Gifts on Main Street and Camelot Jewelers on Clinton Street.

The transactions occurred Monday. Police were alerted by the owner of Camelot Jewelers the following day.

Similar sales of counterfeit silver dollars may have happened in Tioga County.

Police have released surveillance images of the men involved in the Binghamton incidents.
