Just after most of us finished shovelling and plowing out from our mid-week snowstorm the area has been socked again.  Snow began to fall about 7 this morning and has made drivng and walking treacherous.  There have been numerous crashes and skidding accidents reported to police agencies all around the area.

The National Weather Service is predicting 3-5 inches of snow throughout the day with more likely in higher elevations.  Especially slippery are exit and entrance ramps to area roadways.  After Wednesday's and Thursday's snow some melting occurred and in many cases surfaces froze again leaving a thin coating of ice under the new snowfall.

Snow is expected to taper to flurries late in the day.  Travellers are advised to use caution if they are out on area roadways this afternoon and tonight.
