Over 2,100 people took part in Saturday's Insane Inflatable 5K at Tri-Cities Airport in Endicott. In addition hundreds of others were spectators who came to watch family and friends take part. The first Wave of participants took off at 8:30 a.m. and additional Waves went off through Noon.  People of all ages took part.  Youngsters, teens, parents and families and even some grandparents tackled the 5K course featuring massive inflatables as obstacles to climb over and thru.

Some of the inflatables were several stories high.  The obstacles were spaced along the course on the perimeter of Tri-Cities Airport.  A number of vendors also took part in the event featuring food, refreshments and games for the kids.

A portion of the proceeds raised from the Insane Inflatable 5K go to benefit the many programs of the Broome County YMCA.  This was the first time the Insane Inflatable 5K was held in our area.  Last year it was held at the New York State Fairgrounds in Syracuse.
