The Binghamton Bearcats earned their first win of the season as they defeated the Central Connecticut State Blue Devils 81-75 in New Britain, Connecticut Tuesday night.  Sophomore forward Willie Rodriguez set a career high scoring mark with 27 points to pace the Bearcats offense.

Binghamton led 32-31 at the end of the first half.  The Bearcats withstood numerous charges by the Blue Devils in a seesaw second half.  A highlight was a trio of three point shots cashed in by Dusan Perovic to keep the Bearcats in front. Perovic ended up with 11 points in just 11 minutes of game action.

Marlon Beck scored 17 points for the second consecutive game.  12 of those points came on four three-point buckets. Beck has hit nine three-pointers in the last two games.

Binghamton shot 53 percent from the field including a 10-18 showing from beyond the arc.  The Blue Devilsconnected on 6 of 15 from three-point range.

With their first win of the season the Bearcats go to 1-3.  Central Connecticut remains winless at 0-4.  Binghamton returns home to host Boston University Saturday at 4:00 PM at the Events Center.
