Dreams of warmer weather will come true this weekend for the Binghamton Bearcats softball team. The Bearcats open their 2017 season with six games in tournament play in Clearwater, Florida. Binghamton will face tough competition right out of the gate with teams like Oklahoma State, South Florida and James Madison entered.  Then the Bearcats travel to Utah where they will play another five games in tournament competition.

Binghamton returns three First Team America East performers.  Veteran outfielders Jessica Rutherford and Gabby Bracchi head up an experienced Bearcat lineup.

Binghamton's first home game is scheduled for March 22 when the Bearcats host Hofstra. Michelle Burrell Johnston returns for her eighth season as head coach.  Binghamton opens America East competition on April 1 and 2 at UMBC.
