The Binghamton Mets defeated the New Hampshire Fisher Cats 3-1 at NYSEG Stadium tonight (Sunday) to earn a split in the holiday weekend series.  Josh Zeid earned the win throwing seven innings and striking out eight batters to even his record at 2-2.  The victory puts Binghamton's overall record at 36-47.

The Fisher Cats took a 1-0 lead in the first inning but the B-Mets battled back and went ahead in the seventh inning on a Fisher Cat wild pitch.  Then with former Binghamton Bearcat Murphy Smith on the mound in relief Jorge Carillo launched a sacrifice fly to make it a 3-1 edge for Binghamton.  David Roseboom came in to close down the Fisher Cats in the ninth inning and preserve the Binghamton 3-1 win.

The B-Mets remain home for another four games Monday through Thursday against the Hartford Yard Goats.  In a bizarre twist Hartford's new stadium which was expected to be ready early this season is not complete nor ready for game competition.  So, Hartford is playing its home games in away ball parks.  In games on Monday and Tuesday nights the Yard Goats invade NYSEG Stadium to face the B-Mets.  Hartford will be the home team and to further compound the situation there will not be any ticket sales to the public. Those games will be played in an empty stadium.  Expected costs to staff and open the ball park for those games would likely be more than revenue raised and so there will not be any ticket sales.  Those games will be broadcast on News Radio 1290 WNBF with air at 5:50 PM.
