A man arrested January 8 for allegedly stabbing another man several times on Homer Street in Binghamton is under formal incitement for attempted murder.

32 year old Darrell Van Patten of Binghamton was indicted by a Broome County Grand Jury April 11 on that and two felony assault charges.

31 year old Andrew Towner suffered serious injuries as a result of the stabbing and spent several days in the hospital in critical condition.

Police had said Towner and Van Patten were acquainted.

Also indicted in Broome County Court was a 27 year old accused of stealing a hoverboard and cash on the West Side of Binghamton in November.

Police said they believed Julio Belcher-Cumba shot four rounds from a .32 caliber pistol at the victim at around 2:30 a.m. November 18 at Main and Chapin Streets.

He’s been indicted on felony robbery, five felony criminal weapon possession counts and a misdemeanor drug charge.
