Broome County Sheriff’s Officials say they arrested an Endicott man for allegedly doing 61 miles per hour in a 30 miles an hour zone then weaving through oncoming traffic on Taft Avenue through a posted school zone at a high rate of speed and swerving into the oncoming lane to avoid hitting a tractor trailer that was backing out of a business.

57 year old Samuel Gerry claimed he didn’t know how fast he was going when he was pulled over September 18.

He was charged with six counts: Two counts of reckless endangerment, speeding, unregistered motor vehicle, improper plates and moving from a lane unsafely.  He was sent to the Broome County Jail.
