Heart disease and strokes affect thousands of people in this country each year.  The American Heart Association advises that by taking small steps daily you can change your eating habits and live a longer and healthier life.

Eating more fruits and vegetables can help.  Many medical experts recommend 4 to 5 servings of fruits and vegetables each day.  The American Heart Association says you should start with the foods you like.  They also suggest eating more soup especially vegetable soup during the approaching cold weather season..  Also suggested is the addition of fiber-rich foods that can help prevent stroke as well as other forms of heart disease.
