An Afton man who was accused of being drunk when he drove into a motorcyclist September 5 in the Town of Colesville, killing him, is now under indictment for reckless manslaughter.

28 year old Adam Alexander has also been indicted for felony vehicular manslaughter, misdemeanor driving while intoxicated and driving with a blood alcohol content of .08% or greater.

Prosecutors say Alexander’s BAC was measured at .18% after his jeep reportedly hit 36 year old Jason Smith’s motorcycle on Route 235 at the intersection with Route 7.

Smith died later at the hospital.

Alexander is looking at a possible maximum sentence of 15 years in New York State Prison.
