New York State Police say a suspect in the robbery of a Village of Delhi Sunoco gas  station didn’t get far.

Village of Delhi responded to the business at around quarter after 4 a.m. February 21 to a report of a robbery that had just occurred.

Police determined the suspect pushed the clerk out of the way and stole some money.

A State Trooper was just finishing a call assisting a motorist in the Town of Roxbury when the police radio transmission of a vehicle description in connection with the robbery was made.

Troopers then began patrolling the area of County Route 18 in the Town of Stamford and saw the suspect vehicle.

41 year old Jamel Wilson of Hobart was pulled over and taken into custody.

Troopers say they recovered all proceeds from the reported robbery in the vehicle and determined Wilson was under the influence of drugs.

He’s charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs and criminal possession of a controlled substance while Delhi Police charged Wilson with robbery, petit larceny and harassment.

He was sent to the Delaware County Jail on $15,000 bail.
