Abandoned Buildings Removed in Binghamton
A site that once was home to a family-owned ice cream shop in Binghamton soon will feature a new restaurant.
Several old buildings on Upper Court Street are being torn down to clear the way for an A&W Restaurant.
For years, Parisi's Twin Freeze at 439 Court Street had been a favorite spot for East Side residents to enjoy a range of treats.
The business closed and nearby properties started to become problem spots. City councilman Bill Berg said he's pleased that the plans to construct a restaurant at the site are moving forward.
The new A&W unit will be located directly across the street from a Burger King restaurant.
