A Binghamton lawyer is accused of bilking the state and county out of $11,000.

New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman has announced a four-count indictment against attorney John Cadore.

Cadore is charged with larceny and scheming to defraud.

He’s accused of overbilling the New York State Supreme Court Attorneys for Children Program and the Broome County Assigned Council, allegedly double-billing travel expenses and charging overtime.

An audit by the Office of Court Administration Inspector General showed Cadore claiming to work over 24 hours a day 36 times and over-billing travel expenses 187 times.

Cadore was arraigned on the charges August 14.
