Woman Assaulted, Robbed Near BU Downtown Center

Police are seeking five people in connection with an attack on a 21-year-old woman in the area of the Binghamton University Downtown Center.

Authorities say the woman was assaulted and robbed by a group of women near the university facility at 67 Washington Street.

Investigators say the incident occurred around 11:45 p.m. Monday.

The woman who was attacked said her cellphone had been stolen.

Detectives did not indicate whether the woman who was assaulted was injured.

Police have released video from two surveillance cameras in the area of the incident.

In the first segment, five women can be seen crossing North Shore Drive, walking north on Washington Street toward the Binghamton University building.

In the next clip, three of the women are seen walking from the parking lot of the Holiday Inn hotel heading north toward Hawley Street.
