Woman Accused of Stealing From Sidney Youth Football

An Otsego County woman is accused of stealing money from the Sidney Youth Football Program following a recent fundraiser and trying to cover it up by concocting a fake document to try to convince the program’s treasurer that the money had been stolen from her home in a burglary.

32-year-old Erin Harrington of Unadilla is charged with felony forgery and misdemeanor petit larceny.

An investigation by the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office and New York State Police found that Harrington’s home had not been burglarized and the woman is accused of stealing the money for her own use.

Authorities also ticketed Harrington for driving with a suspended registration and an uninsured motor vehicle.

She’s been ordered to appear in Town of Sidney Court at a later date.
