Woman Accused of Racing Through School Zone at Dismissal Time

Delaware County Sheriff’s officials say an Oakdale, New York woman is accused of speeding through a school zone at over double the posted speed limit.

Bob Joseph/WNBF News [file][/caption]Authorities say 21 year old Brittney Barnett was seen driving 43 miles per hour in the school zone on Andes Road in the Village of Delhi that was posted at 20 miles per hour October 29 during dismissal time at Delaware Academy.

Deputies say they also detected an odor of marijuana coming from inside Barnett’s car.

A search of the vehicle turned up some pot.

Barnett is charged with speeding in a school zone, obstructed license plate and unlawful possession of marijuana.
