A heavily-traveled street in Johnson City is expected to be out of service because of a project at Wilson Medical Center.

According to village officials, Baldwin Street between Main Street and Corliss Avenue is expected to be closed for several hours Thursday.

The street is to be shut down because roof-mounted heating units are to be put into place at the Wilson complex.

The affected area will be out of service from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday.

Access to the Wilson Medical Center emergency department entrance will be available only from Main Street while the work is underway.

Hospital traffic and emergency vehicles will be controlled by flag personnel.

Village officials say drivers should plan to use alternate routes while the heating units are being installed.

Bad weather conditions could result in the project being rescheduled.
