Willow Point Nursing Home Forum to Be Held

A public forum on the future of Broome County's Willow Point Nursing Home will be held in Johnson City Tuesday.

The session, organized by the Southern Tier chapter of Citizen Action of New York, will allow county residents to discuss concerns they have regarding the Vestal facility.

The forum will take place at the Johnson City Senior Center on Brocton Street starting at 12:30 p.m.

The event follows a consultant's recommendation that the county sell the nursing home.

Citizen Action representatives say they oppose any move to privatize the facility. They are encouraging people who live in Broome County to attend the forum to describe how they and their families have benefited from Willow Point.

Organizers say they have invited Broome County legislators to attend the session.
