The unusually mild and generally snow-free December weather has helped crews working to build a three-story hotel in the Town of Dickinson.

Workers were busy on Sunday taking advantage of the conditions to continue construction on the Microtel hotel project that started earlier in the fall.

The site at Prospect Street and Burbank Avenue is where a former school building had stood for many years.

The old school was demolished last winter and construction of the hotel was scheduled to start in the spring. But the project was delayed for several months.

Scranton-area developer James Millett has said the hotel will have 57 rooms.

The Microtel just east of Route 17's Airport Road interchange now is expected to open by early summer.
