W is for Wishing – The ABCs of Cancer
Have you ever found yourself wishing with all of your might for something completely out of your control to be fixed or changed? The kids at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital find themselves in the same situation, wishing every day.
There is a very special hallway inside St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. This hallway is covered in artwork created by patients and is called the ‘ABCs of Cancer Wall.” The ABCs of Cancer Wall not only gives hope and encouragement to the children who walk the halls of the hospital as patients, but to visitors, who are encouraged to stop and read what the children have written in order to better understand what they truly feel inside, what they are going through.
This is the artwork that dons the special hallway.

“Sometmes I wish upon a star
That kids get better near and far
Wishing we get better every day
To make our sick parts
Go away.” -Katlin, Age 7
