If you’ve ever wanted to work with real animals, there’s an opportunity to learn more about that from the experts at the zoo.

Binghamton’s Ross Park Zoo is looking for more help and scheduled a volunteer open house August 13 at the Morgan Road facility.

A number of volunteer opportunities are available ranging from gardening, animal ambassador programs, maintenance and special programs.

People can volunteer for a few hours a month or several times a week, fitting their individual schedule.

For more information about volunteering, call the volunteer coordinator, Catherine Deitz at (607) 724-5461 extension 235.
